Bauxite Mines Niksic

 Rudnici Boksita Nišić (Bauxite Mines Niksic) are part of Central European Aluminum Company (CEAC) and was the first mining company founded in Montenegro. The annual production output is defined with concession agreement as 650,000 tonnes of ore. Bauxite Mines employees 1200 people.

CEAC has introduced programs at Bauxite Mines Niksic to modernise equipment and make organizational and technical improvements. Since 2006, €4 million have been invested in this work, exceeding the amount defined in the Shares Purchase Agreement.

New equipment for ore extraction have been introduced at Bauxite Mines Niksic, as well as modern equipment for monitoring underground air quality in the Biocki Stan pit. Also, efficiency and production planning have been enhanced by the recent digitization of data relating to the Biocki Stan and Borovnik deposits.

In order to modernize overall business processes in Bauxite Mines Niksic, CEAC  introduced an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, with support of IBM consultant team. The system reflects best practice from the world’s mining industry.

The plan is to turn Bauxite Mines Niksic, by the end of the restructuring process, into a company based on sound economic principles and operating to international standards.
