 Cemtrade Oradea (Romania)
This alumina factory in Oradea started production in 1965 and has an annual capacity of 240,000 tons. The Oradea plant and its facilities, related equipment, offices and other assets are located on a 30-hectare site. A further 40 hectares outside the plant are dedicated to red mud ponds. Cemtrade was acquired by Basic Element Group in April 2000. During its peak production period, Cemtrade employed about 800 workers. The company suspended its operation in late 2006 and is in the process of being divested from the Group. |
